I’m currently working on my own single-strapped metal standing seam roof that was overlaid on a pre-existing composite shingle roof.
Recent tree damage is triggering a repair with new metal panels, and I want to install a 7” diam (round) range hood exhaust through the roof while I’m at it.
I personally always use Shinglevent ll, I have used Cobra vent and others like it. I know Cobra is quicker but to give the Certainteed Warrenty I must use the Shinglevent. Just seeing what others opinions are on this situation.
I have a job that has bats exiting the attic in a gap between the warped/lifted ridge vent and the asphalt shingles. I can get the bats out, that's not a problem. What I need though, is some advice on a sealant that I can use to "caulk" the gap between the plastic ridge vent edge and the...
<P>Soffits pouring 3in wide x 1ft ice. Brown in color. New standing seam roof vented with ridge vent and gable. looked in attic at underside of roof decking. color black and wet. Mold look. Could not find bathroom or kitchen vents going into attic. Any ideas?</P>

if the rafters are 2x4 that leaves 3 1/2 in stuffed with insulation?
how can air move up and out......
