Absolutely. The Terne primer is a light grey. You have to look closely to see it on the sides. I also paint, 2-3 coats of primer whatever siding or counter flashing will cover. I also 'hem' the counter flashing outwards at the bottom in an effort to keep it from rubbing any paint off the panels.
