Insurance agreement with homeowner

We have recently had a hail storm in my local roofing area and have had an influx of storm chasers. One of the contractors has 40 roofs on the ground and had the homeowners sign agreements with his company to do the roof for the insurance proceeds check. I dont want to do all the work but I would like to get some work for the home team! Does anyone have a copy of similar contract or know how they do these type of sales?

Re: Insurance agreement with homeowner

Clipper,
Good luck to you trying to gain information on this site pertaining to Insurance! I tried a week ago and to no avail... by the way, I think a fair amount of these guys make their living actually chasing storms... rolling into your town and opening up the phone book and dialing everybody under roofing, construction ect until they find a disconnected number and buying it for the sole purpose to falsely appear to the Homeowner as a local establishment"

So the form you are speaking of is a "Direction to Pay", simply your Proposal to do said work with or without listing the dollar amount to the Homeowners. Clever security.

Best of luck!

Ron

I do the roof, you pay me, I don't care where you get the money.

That's my agreement I do however have a form I got from a friend who specializes in storm work. I just have never used it.

Really any form that gives you power of attorney to negotiate on behalf of the home owner, and has an clause if you get them money and they don't hire you to do the roof. The rest is just fluff.

I've seen ALOT of storm chaer chatter lately and I hope this website doesn't turn into a storm chaser central. I have a very low opinion of -most- storm chasers.

The mass bad ones give the good ones a bad rep. I find using relationships with reputable companies in multiple locations is the best way. I help ur company during your season, then u help us during ours. This way someone is always there to handle warranties and such. Pairing up with good people is the key.

Some of us just don't have a clue about insurance work Ron. I meet with the client, give a price and sometimes have to explain my price to an adjuster. Sometimes I get the job, sometimes I don't.
The vast majority of my contracts are open ended. No set price, just an approximate price range.
That's why you didn't get a response from me, or Grumpy. You weren't ignored. We had no answer for you.

(Btw, Get with GTP.)
