How much is lead generation worth?

Just wondering what is a fair price to pay for people that find us jobs.

Like for example lets say someone referred a job that we ended up closing on. what is it worth to you?

thanks, I really like this website!

The best lead is a solid unsolicited referral, but there are methods you can utilize to "Encourage" that unsolicited aspect.

Call up a Rainbow Vacuum sales location in your area and get a free cleaning of your homes carpets and bed sheets and see what they do throughout and in particularly, at the end of their demonstration.

Re: How much is lead generation worth?

If I get a referral from a customer the best they are going to get from me is a thank you card. Maybe a $5 gift card. I am not about soliciting referrals. I find it cheap and sleezy, and I know alot of people disagree with me.

However if I put myself in the customers shoes and ask a buddy for a contractor, he says call this guy, I do and hire him, then when the job is done get his referral program bull chit in the mail... I will feel used by my buddy. I want a referral because the contractor did a great job for my buddy, not because my buddy is going to get $50 out of it.

I have spoken to local contractors who have said "go look at this job and throw 5% on it for me." I say to them "keep it. If you close the sale I'll gie you 10%, but if I have to do all the work and all you are doing is making the introduction I'll give you a couple bucks." Having said that, I have multiple friends who I refer work to back and forth freely. I don't want to work with or for sleeze bags. Sometimes I'll take them out to lunch if I close a really good one.

Now having said that, if I had professional lead generator working for me I would base the rate of lead referral based upon how many leads they can generate so that at the end of the day they were earnign a fair wage. But this does not sound like what you are inquiring about.

You can't feed your family with big egos.

I give $25.00 to salesmen in different home improvement stores to refer me.
