New to the business

Hey all. I'm new to the business and still (ok, trying to) learning.

I've been taken on by the regional sales manager of the company as I know very little about it. I tried to break into the business previously after hurricane Ike but the guy I started working for left after 2 days so that didn't work.

I was hoping you folks could give me some additional resources so I could learn more. I hate going out door knocking without knowing much. It just makes me look like a donkey and I hate looking like a donkey.

So, any information or websites you could provide would be great! The company has given me some resources but I want more, more more!! Like perhaps some sales hints or suggestions other sales folks have tried and worked (or failed).

Thanks so much!
