Just Joined - Roofing Contractor Marketer
Hello Members,
Just joined today and looking forward to contributing to the discussion. My name is Mark and I'm one of the owners of Hometown Roofing Contractors, a marketing and lead generation service for roofers. We are based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, but work with roofers nationwide. We've worked in internet marketing for other home service professionals for the last few years, but just started working with roofers late this summer. We are striving to be the "contractor friendly" roofing lead generation service by providing a free website, exclusive leads (leads go to one roofer only instead of several like most lead generation services), no long-term contract, and no upfront costs. |

Re: Just Joined - Roofing Contractor Marketer
Dave. I am done using lead referral services to do for me what I was already doing for myself, but charging me a ton to do it. Not every guy is computer saavy and everyone who doesn't serve my area should look into marketing online. There are SOOOO many scams out there though, it's more shady than the roofing business LOL.

Hey Grumpy, don't be such a Grump. I'm not surprised you've had a bad experience with online marketing services... many of them out there are less than legit or are more interested in taking your money than providing a valuable service. But don't lump everyone into the same boat (just as I'm sure you don't want to be lumped in with fly by night roofers). Hometown Internet Marketing is legit. Our clients never pay a penny unless we produce a valid lead and the great majority of them are extremely happy with our service. Clients are free to leave at anytime if they are not satisfied (no contract)... and very few have ever left. We lose about 4% of our clients in a given year. Compare that to churn rates of 40 - 50% in the industry overall.

Re: Just Joined - Roofing Contractor Marketer
The first thing any company in any business should do is know who they are dealing with. When it comes to getting out on the internet the right way is to first deal with a google adwords qualified company. That basically means google themselves back that companies business model and they put thier stamp on it. There are only about 150 of those in our country where as they are like 150,000 seo guys out there. So be careful. If anyone needs or wants help getting themselves relevant on search engines I know someone who can get you first page placement on google because the google experts themsleves set it up for you. Some of the best roofing companies in America swear by it. I agree that there are some companies out there that do provide what they say so its unfair to lump everyone together.
If anyone wants to see it for themselves first hand I will show you. |

Re: Just Joined - Roofing Contractor MarketerQuote:
Our average closing ratio is about 40% across the board when factoring all lead sources (lead service providers, referrals, past customers, our websites, etc...) and our average cost per SALE is about half the published industry average. When something starts skewing those averages I take notice and make changes. In addition why share with my competitors? Most lead services will also sell the customer info to one, two, three or even four of my comptitors. Heck some lead services resell the leads to OTHER lead services, making for 10 competitors. Forget that! Like I said in my previous post, I have tried just about every lead service company. I have interviewd several that I haven't tried for various reason, basically knowing upfrant they were chit. I don't want to post their names because I'd probably get sued for slander.
