I think Im doing this right.

I am just getting started in Subcontracting. My goal after learning more is to take all the steps to be a Contractor. Right now my concern is how to do everything legally. I am bonded and insured. I created an employer tax i.d #. I've also applied where I live for a business license which is still pending. But I'm not sure of what else there is to do. How does a person establish the title "subcontractor?" I don't want to go about this all wrong by doing too much or not enough. I want to legitimately be licensed or acknowledged as a subcontractor. Thinking logically I'm sure its not as easy as just waking up one day saying your a subcontractor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
