Greetings from Canuckistan
Hello, my name is Mr Roofer, and I am a recovering sideaholic.
OK that was lame, but seriously, I've been roofing for the worst part of the last 20 years or so. I started out as a wee lad helping my stepfather tar the shite out of a step flashing detail on our own 12/12 roofed house, and knew that wasn't going to work then. As far as I know it still leaks today. The first fulltime gig landed me on a motley crew of 10-15 that mostly serviced the residential re-roof/new construction asphalt shingle market. We also did some cedar, and a lot of rotten pine. Mixed in the cold winter months we would do the odd t&g or sbs repair. It was a good varied learning experience there, with the owner of the company on the roof everyday which kept the bs of the biz to a minimum, I think, and digress. Since that time I have seemingly subbed for just about every contractor in the city, and some beyond (steady work hah!), and have since graduated into an estimating/supervisory role for a small, moderately upscale outfit which roofs pretty much anything under the sun. Diversity is key in the new and vastly unimproved economy. Good lookin site, is it siding free though? |

LOL Canukistan, that made me laugh.
Not much siding going on here, you may try www.contractortalk.com but feel free to post here too. |

Re: Greetings from Canuckistan ![]() I have been pretty free in trying 'that other place', but I like the idea of a specifically dedicated roofing zone, hopefully with as little tree fiddy as possible! |

Re: Greetings from Canuckistan
Me too mr Roofer. I don't like asking a roofing question and seeing "FramerThis" and "FramerThat" answering. LOl but I like the tree fiddy. There is some reasoning to it. Though it does tend to get over done.
Three years ago I said CT was getting too big and losing its' intimacy. I spend more time here than there and when I go, I only go to the roofing forum. |
