what type of diamond blade for tile roofs?

Hi there I recently picked up a older partner 650 12" cut-off saw and need some advice on what type of blade is best for tile roofs. I have only done repairs and have been using a turbo blade on my skill saw and would like to find out what you are using-thanks jason

I find that they are varyous prices but unless your cutting clay tiles stick with the cheaper ones as they do just as good a job.
Cheers

I guess you can use 7 1/4 inch concrete diamond blade. It will work well with a skill saw.

Re: what type of diamond blade for tile roofs?

Honestly I would suggest that if your volume of repair work is decently high or if you feel like you're going to be a roofer for a while longer to invest in a HYTILE cutter. Diamond blades are rife with problems, the main one being that when you cut clay or concrete roof tile with a diamond blade it creates a large cloud of dust, that dust is called silica dust and when inhaled it never leaves your lungs and ultimately decreases your lung capacity. Another problem with diamond blades is that over time they are expensive, every couple of weeks/months you're out buying more diamond blades, over time these purchases add up, you could invest in yourself and your business by buying a HYTILE roof tile cutter which does not use electricity or a spinning blade to cut tile, it uses a low-impact mechanical separation to break tile along a line. There are so many benefits to using a HYTILE cutter, for more information check out HYTILEusa.com The time to switch over is now, OSHA is about 2/3rds of the way to making a new rule that cuts the permissable levels of silica dust on jobsites in half, roofers are going to have to find ways to be compliant by using engineering controls, but the HYTILE roof tile cutter already is.
